Does anyone else think that 'Happy Valley' is a great name to host the proposed outdoor game between Pittsburgh and Philly next year?
I'd camp out in a field for that. I'd also bring mace.

From my experience at Flyers/Pens games, it'd be more like "Valley of Bloody Death"

I would LOVE to go to an outdoor game, but I don't know if my warm California blood could handle it. Eek!

PA doesn't seem too cold in the winter, Weather.com says January average is about 19-20 lows to 38-40 highs. Not bad! Although, I guess that sounds horrible to someone from California.
These rumors are cropping up everywhere - last I heard it was a double header U of M/MSU and Wings/Leafs proposed at Ford Field in Detroit.......um, except that's not an outdoor stadium. Guys?
Steph - I read that on ESPN.com too (I think). And how they want to make this a yearly thing now. Maybe I should start putting away some money for a Winter Classic fund...
Elly - Well I was a coxswain up in northern California for a number of years. So I've been out on the water in high 20s-low 30s before. Granted that was at 5AM and the sun hadn't come out yet...
Why would they call it "Happy Valley" when "Death Valley" works so much better? :o)
Connie - I think it was ESPN where I saw it too (although really it was fom a link on Christy's blog). An every year thing might be fun, but I'm not going to lie, if they do Pens/Flyers next year I'm going to start getting a little pissed about all these Eastern Conference teams. I mean really, I'd like to care about the game SOME year... (Okay that was a little harsh :P But seriously!)
Steph - Seriously, gotta get some Western Conference love in the house. I mean, the Kings versus the Florida Panthers playing outdoors in ...New York?
