I'll make a real post soon and get back to looking at other teams that don't wear black and gold, but in the meantime, I have to share one thing I found today while on the Pens' site:
To all those who called Sidney a wuss and a whiner, I'd like to invite you to eat it. Would you like to play hockey the way he does with a broken foot for over a month?
Oh, and to Devils' fans: Wow, nice brawl. Poor Jamie, it's never fun to get jumped.

Just want to remind everyone that my boy Dion played last year with a broken foot during playoffs... :)
And it is very courageous and strong of a player to do so! No one's calling Phaneuf a wuss, though. ;)
Well good on him. I tended goal with a broken arm in November, and that hurt like mad. Can't imagine what a broken foot feels like. So, kudos to Crosby.
Magses: Oh ouch. I really do think it's very courageous of a player to play through injury (as long as they aren't doing more damage to themselves and within reason), I can't imagine playing with a broken anything, much less being between the pipes with a broken arm.
Elly, I agree, as long as you're not going to aggravate an injury it ok to keep playing. If you're going to make it worse it's just stupid. It takes a lot of balls to play through something as painful as a broken bone though, especially something you're going to be using as much as your feet.
I got off easy, an arm is pretty easy to attach a splint to. I'm still trying to imagine what they did to make sure Sidney didn't make his injury worse. I mean, I don't think most reinforcements would have fit in his skates, and if they did it wouldn't have been too comfortable. I'm thinking they must have taped it or something.
By the way, you guys write a hilarious blog. I sort of randomly landed here yesterday and spent half a day laughing my head off.
I heard that they padded his boot, but other than that, I would imagine taping and icing in between periods. He said that they only did it lightly (the padding) so that people wouldn't know and take advantage of it.
